Writing Innovation Symposium

Writing Innovation Symposium

Marquette University
April 27-28, 2017

This event is sponsored by our Social Innovation Initiative and designed to help colleagues across disciplines develop writing instruction in conjunction with social innovation and social entrepreneurship education.

The program features:

  • A discussion of principles and best practices for incorporating formal and informal writing instruction into social innovation/entrepreneurship courses, co-curricular programming, and extra-curricular activities.
  • A spotlight on the new first-year writing curriculum at Marquette, which is “seeding” social innovation through undergraduate research.
  • Extended time to work with other Symposium participants and consultants to develop individual courses and assignments, course sequences, and/or co- and extracurricular programming that integrates writing into social innovation and social entrepreneurship education.

This event is open to colleagues of all ranks, roles, and areas of expertise. The only requirement: All participants must bring a project currently in development. We welcome individual applicants as well as pairs and teams, and we encourage TT faculty and staff to apply in collaboration with adjuncts, graduate students, and undergraduate RAs or writing center tutors from their home institutions.

The application deadline is 4/14, and additional information is available via this link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/writing-innovation-symposium-tickets-32364676619.
