WI Service-Learning Impact Study

What impact does service-learning have on college students in the state of Wisconsin?

The purpose of this project is to investigate the impact of service-learning and community-based experiences on college student outcomes, such as academic achievement, year-to-year retention, graduation rates, and job placements or enrollment in post-graduate studies. UW-Stout students, staff, and faculty affiliated with the Institutional Research certificate program will help WiCC examine these relationships through their coursework. The project will be piloted in the Spring and Summer of 2016 with hopes of expanding to other campuses in 2016-2017.

The current research question driving the analysis is:

To what extent does participation in community-based learning or service-learning experiences impact student outcomes (graduation rates, year-to-year retention, academic achievement, and job placements)?
