On January 17, 2019, Iowa Campus Compact will host a second Civic Action Planning and Implementation Institute at the University of Iowa.

In 2016, member presidents and chancellors from across Wisconsin signed the National Campus Compact Civic Action Statement. The statement includes a commitment to develop and share a Civic Action Plan within a year. Nine member campuses in WI have submitted plans, and more are in the planning stages now. Several have also entered into the implementation phase. Similar participation was seen across Iowa.

By attending this Institute, teams from member campuses will have the opportunity to consider new strategies for civic action, including applying an equity lens and engaging key campus leaders, and will have the opportunity to work together and receive expert consultation on their planning and/or implementation. In the afternoon, teams can spend time getting to know colleagues from other campuses across the region in facilitated discussions on specific topics key to many Civic Action Plans.

Individuals and members of teams affiliated with Campus Compact member institutions can register for only $25/person. Representatives from non-member campuses are also welcomed at a rate of $50/person.
