Director’s Update – December 2018

December 1, 2018

While the Fall 2018 semester may be wrapping up, there are quite a few exciting opportunities coming up in the next few months for Campus Compact for Wisconsin members! Whether you are a student, staff, faculty, or a community member, there is an upcoming opportunity for you!

  • Are you a student, staff, faculty, or a community partner involved in an excellent community engagement project? Consider nominating yourself or someone you know for one of our 2019 CCWI Awards, or encourage your President or Chancellor to nominate a student for the 2019 Newman Civic Fellows Program.
  • Are you an instructor or faculty member designing a new or revamped service-learning/community-based learning course for Fall 2019? Check out the BPACE community of practice focused on developing strong learning outcomes and methods of assessment, so you can feel confident in your course design going into the Fall. For courses happening this Spring, consider applying for one of our Program Innovation Mini-Grants.
  • Are you part of an institutional committee working on either a Campus Compact Civic Action Plan or the Carnegie Elective Classification for Community Engagement? We have two upcoming workshops in January just for you. Join other campus teams as you seek to complete these important projects.
  • Are you looking for upcoming professional development opportunities? Plan to attend the annual CCWI Civic Engagement Institute and the Midwest Campus Compact Conference, and you might also consider submitting a presentation proposal. We’re also offering a series of free webinars across a wide variety of topics. And we are looking for individuals to help us pilot test our new Community Engagement Professional Credentialing Program.
